Binghamton Senators News Release

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators snapped their season-high five game losing streak with a 5-0 victory over the visiting Syracuse Crunch. Andrew Hammond turned aside all 18 of the Crunch's scoring chances to earn his second shutout of the season.

Darren Kramer opened the scoring on the eventual game-winning goal 5:20 into the period. Chris Wideman earned the primary assist on Kramer's second tally of the year. Matt Puempel increased the Binghamton lead to 2-0 12:19 into the frame on another nice feed from Wideman. Just over a minute later, Buddy Robinson made it 3-0 when he redirected a pass from Ryan Dzingel to snap a 14-game personal goalless streak. The B-Sens power-play unit made it a 4-0 advantage with just over 30 seconds remaining in the opening period when Shane Prince buried a loose puck on the crease for his 12th goal of the year.

Binghamton put the game away when Max McCormick wristed home his sixth goal of the season ending Syracuse's starting goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy's night with Kristers Gudlevskis coming into the game just 2:53 into the second frame.

Binghamton held Syracuse to just 18 shots on goal while testing their goaltenders 40 times. Dzingel finished with two assists on the night along with a plus-4 rating to lead the B-Sens to their first victory of 2015.

Binghamton travels to Lehigh Valley tomorrow for a 7:05p.m. faceoff versus the Phantoms before finishing up their busy weekend against the Springfield Falcons on Sunday at 4:00p.m.
