Miracles Lose Down the Stretch to the Rainmen

(Moncton, NB) The Moncton Miracles lose down the stretch to the Halifax Rainmen with a final score of 100-93 in front of 1,451 fans.

The visiting Halifax Rainmen would take an early 9-4 lead over the Miracles squad. Halifax would lead by as many as 8 points over Moncton in the first quarter but the home team would make shots late in the quarter and finish down 1 at the end of the first 12 minutes of play, 34-33.

The Rainmen would start to pull ahead of the Miracles and would show no sign of letting up. At the end of the first half the Miracles were down 57-51. Stanley Robinson led the way for the Miracles with 14 points, while Trayvon Lathan added in with 10. Chris Cayole was the first half force for the Rainmen with 12 points.

Halifax would continue to dominate in the third quarter and pull ahead by as many as 15 points and finish the quarter with a strong 80-69 lead over the Miracles. Moncton would continue to try and stay in the game in the fourth. The Miracles would manage to bring it within 4 late in the game but it was not enough down the stretch to pull out a win.

Stanley Robinson led the way for the Miracles with 16 points. Tyler Murray, Trayvon Lathan, Daquan Brooks, Shawn Vanzant, and Zack Atkinson all had 12 points a piece.

Chris Matthews did not play due to an injury and is day to day.

Chris Cayole was the force for the Rainmen with 31 points. Emmanuel Jones dropped 17 for the visiting Halifax squad and Tim Parham pulled down 17 rebounds.

The Miracles next home game is scheduled for Sunday, January 18th against last year's NBL Canada Champions the Windsor Express. Tip-off is 2pm at the Moncton Coliseum.
