Blue Jays Sign INF Munenori Kawasaki to Minor League Contract

The Toronto Blue Jays today announced that they have signed INF MUNENORI KAWASAKI to a minor league contract with an invitation to major league spring training.
KAWASAKI, 33, has split each of the past two seasons between the Bisons and the Toronto Blue Jays. He has been on the Bisons' Opening Day roster in each of the past two years and averaged .276 (32-116) with 11 doubles, a triple and nine RBI in 44 games with the Herd in 2014. He hit .355 (11-31) off left-handed pitching while with Buffalo last season and committed just three errors despite starting at three different positions on the infield (22 starts at shortstop, 10 at second base and one at third base).
Kawasaki has played in 178 games with the Blue Jays over the past two seasons and has averaged .244 (117-480) with 13 doubles, six triples, a home run and 41 RBI while with Toronto.
