2009 Kelly Cup Champion Rob Ricci Returns to Stingrays in Trade with Brampton

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 22 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry, acquired forward Rob Ricci from the Brampton Beast in exchange for defenseman Guy Leboeuf, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced today.
Ricci, 30, skated for the Stingrays from 2009-11, appeared in 139 total regular-season contests netting 51 goals and 53 assists for 104 points, led the team in scoring with 54 points (26 goals, 28 assists) in 2010-11 and helped the Stingrays capture an ECHL-record third Kelly Cup Championship in 2009. In 24 games with the Beast, the Brampton, Ontario, native added 14 points (four goals, 10 assists). He started the campaign with the Dundee Stars in the United Kingdom picking up 10 points (six goals, four assists) in 15 contests. Since the Stingrays, Ricci spent the last three seasons overseas in Denmark and Sweden.
Leboeuf, 25, generated one assist in 16 games with the Stingrays.
