Stockton Ports News Release

STOCKTON, Calif.- In a continued effort to support the San Joaquin Valley community, the Ports gave approximately $41,200 to local non-profits and $248,769 of in-kind donations to local charities and schools in 2014.

Through various fundraisers, the Ports have raised over $18,000, which has been re-distributed to local organizations. Two leading in-stadium fundraisers in 2014 included the eighth annual Pink Night, which generated a $7,855 donation to St. Joseph's Breast Health Services, and the second annual Prostate Cancer Awareness Day, which raised $3,514 for Sutter Gould Medical Foundation. Additional fundraisers included Root Beer Float Day, Youth Baseball Camp, Fish with a Port, Pancakes with the Ports, and Community Fund Weekend.

The Ports had nearly 48,000 individuals participate in the popular Silver Sluggers, Kids' Club, Baseball by the Books, and Summer Reading programs. These programs provided ticket donations and discounted pricing, with the Ports distributing over 36,500 tickets to participants.

The Stockton Ports' Anchor Fund was established in early 2007 and has helped support many community projects, with a primary focus on youth centers and youth sports. The charitable fund reflects and reaffirms the Ports' commitment to strengthening the community using baseball and entertainment as a backdrop, with nearly 440 non-profit organizations receiving donations in 2014.

"In 2014, we made several exciting strides both on and off the field, and I could not be prouder of the Anchor Funds' efforts this past season," said President Pat Filippone. "With the proceeds primarily benefiting child-based community outreach programs in Stockton and San Joaquin County, the Anchor Fund only looks to improve its fundraisers in 2015."
