Hamilton Tiger-Cats News Release

HAMILTON - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that the team has signed national offensive lineman Tim O'Neill to a new contract that will keep him in Black and Gold through the 2016 season.

"Tim is a valuable member of our football team and an important part of our offensive line," said Ticats General Manager and Head Coach Kent Austin. "His strong presence on the field and character in the locker room has helped our team be successful over the last two seasons."

O'Neill, a 6-3, 305-pound, native of Victoria, British Columbia, enters his ninth CFL season and fourth with the Ticats. Since signing with the Ticats in February 2012, he has appeared in all 54 regular season games, starting in 44 of those games.

"The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are a great organization, which made the decision to re-sign easy," said O'Neill. "I could not be happier to be back at Tim Hortons Field with the greatest fans in the CFL."

The Ticats Most Outstanding Lineman in 2012 was slated to become a free agent next month.
