Bootland Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

WINDSOR, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles, proud affiliate of the NHL's Calgary Flames and Adirondack Flames of the AHL, announced Tuesday that Eagles forward"ˆDarryl Bootland has been named the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL"ˆPlayer of the Week for Jan. 5-11.

Bootland scored four goals, added two assists and was a +7 as Colorado went 4-0-0 last week.

The 33-year-old scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in a 4-2 win against Stockton on"ˆTuesday. After being held scoreless in a 3-2 victory over the Thunder on Wednesday, he picked up a pair of assists in a 5-3 win at Bakersfield on Friday and tallied two goals in a 4-1 victory against the Condors on Saturday.

A native of Toronto, Bootland has 22 points (13g-9a) in 30 games with the Eagles this season. He has recorded 94 points (48g-46a) in 122 career ECHL games with Colorado and"ˆKalamazoo.

An eighth-round selection (252nd overall) of the Colorado Avalanche in the 2000 NHL"ˆEntry Draft,"ˆBootland picked up three points (1g-2a) in 32 career NHL games with the New York Islanders and Detroit Red Wings. Overall, he has 409 points (201g-208a) in 746 career professional games. The 6-foot-2, right-winger has also spent 2,855 minutes in the penalty box over his professional career.

On behalf of Darryl Bootland, a case of pucks will be donated to a Colorado youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood"ˆHockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 31,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
