Slippage
After entering last Friday's game in second place in the ECHL's Central Division, the Mallards now find themselves in fourth place. The Thunder took over second place by overcoming the Mallards last Friday and yesterday expanded its lead over Quad City to three points by defeating Evansville. The Tulsa Oilers moved one point ahead of the Mallards by winning in Rapid City Saturday evening. The Mallards have one game in hand on the Thunder and three games in hand on the Oilers.

Working Overtime
The Mallards last Wednesday won in overtime for the first time this season after losing their prior three sudden death decisions. Mario Lamouruex's power play goal at 1:53 of overtime was the Mallards' first regular season sudden death goal since Darren McMillan scored 36 seconds into the extra period to give Quad City a 3-2 victory over the host Brampton Beast on December 28, 2013.
Red Light District
After scoring only once last Friday against Wichita, the Mallards now rank tenth in the ECHL in goals scored per game (3.1). They are eighth in goals allowed per game (2.8).
Special Teams
After surviving their foes' last 12 power plays, the Mallards now rank eleventh in penalty killing (84.4 percent). The Mallards went 1-for-14 on the power play against Wichita last week and failed to score against the Thunder when up 5-on-4 (Lamoureux scored last Wednesday's winner during a 4-on-3 advantage). The Mallards rank sixteenth in the ECHL in power play efficiency (16.2).
Promotion
Parker Milner last Saturday night made his Iowa Wild debut and first AHL appearance of the season after last Thursday signing a professional tryout agreement with the Wild for the fifth time this year and the second time last week. Milner made seven saves and allowed a pair of goals in 11 minutes and 30 seconds after entering Iowa's loss to the San Antonio Rampage in the third period. Last Thursday also saw Milner named an alternate for the January 21 ECHL All-Star Game.
Super Mario
Lamoureux has nine points (five goals and four assists) in his last eight games. He is tied for eighth in the ECHL in assists (23).
Foxy
Justin Fox has ten points (two goals and eight assists) in his last ten games. Fox last Wednesday produced two goals after failing to score in his prior 13 games. Early in the third period of last Wednesday's game, Fox failed to convert what was the Mallards' second penalty shot of the season.
Between the Pipes
Evan Mosher, who has started five of the Mallards' last seven games, is tied for seventh in the ECHL in save percentage (.916). Milner ranks sixth in save percentage (.920) and seventh in goals against average (2.39).
