Frisco RoughRiders News Release

FRISCO, TEXAS (JANUARY 12, 2015) - The Frisco RoughRiders, Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, today named Jason Dambach the club's Executive Vice President and General Manager. The announcement was made by CEO and Managing Partner Chuck Greenberg and President and Co-General Partner Scott Sonju.

Dambach (pronounced DOM-bock) most recently served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the New York-Penn League's State College (Pa.) Spikes, a sister club of the RoughRiders from Greenberg's family of Minor League Baseball franchises (Greenberg Sports Group). Overall, the 38-year old has 16 seasons of professional baseball experience, first with the Double-A Altoona (Pa.) Curve from 1999 to 2008 in various broadcasting and communications roles, and the past six seasons as the top executive in State College, an affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals.

In his new position with the Riders, Dambach will take a lead role in guiding the franchise's marketing and promotional efforts, community presence, and all aspects of fan experience and game operations at Dr Pepper Ballpark. He will also work with Sonju to oversee all franchise business matters, lead the club's front office staff, and manage the relationship with the Rangers, Minor League Baseball and the Texas League.

"When Scott and I identified the personality qualities, skill level and background necessary for this important role with the franchise, Jason was our first and most obvious choice," Greenberg said. "I've worked alongside Jason for 13 seasons with our clubs in Pennsylvania and he has been a key figure in building those teams into fun, community-minded, fan-friendly and award-winning franchises. His unique skill set will be vital in our efforts to enhance our brand throughout the Metroplex and the already-terrific experience of Riders baseball at Dr Pepper Ballpark."

"We are thrilled to have someone of Jason's character and diverse background within our industry on board to lead many key areas of our franchise's operation," Sonju said. "The 2015 season is right around the corner and we have a number of exciting announcements forthcoming regarding the future direction of our brand and ballpark experience. Jason's leadership and expertise in these areas will greatly enhance their impact."

A native of Punxsutawney, PA, Dambach has diverse resume that includes ten seasons as a Double-A radio broadcaster for the Pittsburgh Pirates' affiliate in Altoona, where he also served as Director of Communications, handled corporate sales responsibilities, and oversaw the club's website and all external publications. During his time with the Curve, the franchise, which was led by Greenberg, won all three major industry awards -- the 2004 Larry MacPhail Promotional Trophy for top promotional and marketing effort in Minor League Baseball, the 2006 Baseball America Freitas Award as the top Double-A club, and the 2006 John H. Johnson President's Trophy for overall franchise excellence and contribution to the baseball industry.

Dambach joined the State College Spikes in January 2009, becoming just the second General Manager in club history. He added the role of Vice President in January 2012 and Senior Vice President in October 2012. During his tenure with the club, the Spikes set numerous single-game total and walk-up attendance records, hosted the successful 2009 New York-Penn League All-Star Game at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, and earned the New York-Penn League's 2011 Vincent McNamara Outstanding Club Award and the 2013 Baseball America Freitas Award as the top franchise at the Class-A Short-Season level. Individually, Dambach was named the winner of the NYPL's 2012 Robert Stedler Executive of the Year Award and the 2010 Robert Julian Community & Baseball Service Award for his long-time service to the baseball industry and commitment to the community.

"I'm honored that Chuck and Scott offered me the opportunity to bring my skills, experience and personality to a franchise that has enjoyed tremendous success over the past decade in a vibrant market with a stunningly-beautiful ballpark," Dambach said. "The passion for the franchise and the terrific work done in the past by Scott Sonju, COO Scott Burchett and the entire front office staff provides an excellent building block for some really exciting, fun and fan-friendly enhancements that are going to drive the experience of Riders baseball to an all new level both at the ballpark and in the community."

Opening Day 2015 is April 9 when the RoughRiders begin their season with a six-game home stand against the Arkansas Travelers and Northwest Arkansas Naturals. For tickets to see the RoughRiders in 2015, please call (972) 731-9200, e-mail Info@RidersBaseball.com, or visit www.RidersBaseball.com.
