Lightning Defeated by Mill Rats

(LONDON, Ontario) - Sunday afternoon, in front of a record 8,636 fans at Budweiser Gardens, the London Lightning were defeated by the Saint John Mill Rats, 122-109.
The Lightning now stand at 11-8.
Marvin Phillips and Emmanuel Little both scored 22 points. Phillips also contributed 12 rebounds.
Darin Mency of the Mill Rats led all scorers with 28 points.
Before the Lightning game on Sunday, the Second Annual Charity Roundball Classic held its final round with the Catholic Central Crusaders winning this year's championship. The Mother Theresa Spartans came in second place and the South Lions placing third.
The Lightning play their next game at home on Sunday, January 18 at a special time of 4:00 p.m. against the Mississauga Power. The Lightning's game time has been pushed back to accommodate two Fanshawe Falcon's games happening at Budweiser Gardens earlier in the day. The Fanshawe Women's Basketball team will play at 10:30 a.m. and the Men's Basketball team will play at 12:30 p.m. Both teams will play the Lambton Lions and spectators can catch both Fanshawe games with a ticket to the Lightning game that day.
