Colorado Eagles News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. ""The Colorado Eagles (22-13-0-0) took home four points against the Bakersfield Condors (17-16-1-3) this weekend with a 4-1 triumph on Saturday night at Rabobank Arena.

With :47 left in the first period, Eagles forward Darryl Bootland tipped a shot from defenseman Brett Kulak over Condors netminder Ty Rimmer to gain the 1-0 edge over Bakersfield.

Condors defenseman Gabriel Verpaelst came rushing down the ice and took a shot from between the hashes and beat Eagles goalie Troy Redmann, five-hole, to tie the game 1-1, less than three minutes into the second frame.

Halfway through the third stanza forward Brock Nixon gave the Eagles the 2-1 lead on a breakaway as he sent the puck, blocker-side high, past RImmer. With just over two minutes left in regulation, Bootland pumped the Eagles lead to 3-1 as he stuffed home a goal on another breakaway. Less than ten seconds later, Eagles forward Nathan Moon netted an empty-netter to take all four points in Bakersfield with a 4-1 victory.

Rimmer saved 27 of the Eagles 30 shots-on-net, while Eagles newcomer Redmann shutdown 27 of the Condors 28 shots to hold on for the 4-1 win.
