Wolves Support SirJohnA2015

January 9, 2015 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Sudbury Wolves News Release

The Sudbury Wolves would like to thank Nickel Belt MPP France Gelinas for participating in the pre game ceremony prior to Friday night's game against the Niagara IceDogs. A pre game ceremony and puck drop was held to support the SirJohnA2015 project organized by the Sir John A. Macdonald Bicentennial Commission to raise awareness of the life and legacy of Sir John A. Macdonald, Canada's primary architect and first Prime Minister.

Based in the historic city of Kingston, Ontario, SirJohnA2015 is designed to spark a conversation about Macdonald, Canadian history and heritage, and about our system of government.

"We are proud to be a part of this project to honour Canada's first Prime Minister, Sir John A Macdonald," stated OHL Commissioner David Branch. "It is important we recognize our Canadian history and heritage through projects such as SirJohnA2015."

Members of the Sudbury Wolves also wore ceremonial shoulder patches during Friday night's game.
