Bernier, Nakajima-Farran, Tissot and Ouimette with Canadian Men's National Team

MONTREAL - Midfielders Patrice Bernier and Issey Nakajima-Farran, along with defenders Maxim Tissot and Karl W. Ouimette, have been selected by the Canadian men's national team for two friendlies versus Iceland (ranked 33rd in the world by FIFA), on January 16 and 19, at the University of Central Florida, in Orlando.
The four players will train with the Canadian selection from January 11 to 20, in Florida.
Bernier (51 caps), Nakajima-Farran (32 caps) and Ouimette (4 caps) were in the starting lineup for Canada's last friendly against Panama (ranked 55th by FIFA), playing to a 0-0 draw November 18 at the Estadio Rommel Fernandez, in Panama City.
This will be a second invitation with the national team for Maxim Tissot, following the game versus Panama, but did not play.
The Reds are in preparation for the CONCACAF Gold Cup, which will take place from July 7 to 26, 2015, in the U.S. and Canada. The champions of the 2015 edition will then face the U.S., champions of the of the 2013 edition, in a playoff game to determine the CONCACAF representative at the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2017, in Russia.
