IceCaps Release Yann Sauve from PTO

St. John's IceCaps News Release


The St. John's IceCaps announced they have released defenceman Yann Sauve from his professional tryout contract.

Sauve, 24, played four games with the IceCaps, recording a goal. This season, the Montreal native has also played five games with the Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL), recording a goal and an assist.

A former second round pick by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Sauve has played 195 career AHL games with the Manitoba Moose, Chicago Wolves and Utica Comets, collecting 40 points (7G, 33A) and 175 penalty minutes, and has suited up in eight NHL games, all with the Canucks.

The IceCaps resume their seven-game home stand Saturday and Sunday with a pair of games against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Tickets are on sale now at the Mile One Box Office, by phone at (709) 576-7657 or www.mileonecentre.com.
