DeAngelo Added to Hounds Defence

Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Raftis announced this morning his third transaction in as many days.

Thursday morning the Program acquired ANTHONY DeANGELO from the Sarnia Sting in exchange they send Anthony Salinitri along with three picks to the Sting; 2nd Round 2015 (Windsor's), 2nd Round 2017 and 4th Round 2018

This season (2014-15), DeAngelo has 10 goals and 28 assists (38 points) in 29 games while he was playing for the Sting. His totals are good for 4th best defensively in the OHL, while playing in 5 less games.

Last year, the Sewell, NJ product led the league's rearguards with 15 goals and 56 assists (71 points) in 51 games played.

Throughout his four-year OHL career thus far he has 190 points (40 goals and 150 assists) in 210 games played.

This past summer DeAngelo was selected in the 1st Round (19th overall) by the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft before later signed a three-year entry level contract with them on December 2, 2014.

On the International stage he was a member of Team USA at this year's IIHF World Junior Championship (Toronto/Montreal) recently while he also a member of the U.S. Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament (U18) in 2012.

There he was the leading scorer amongst defence man for the U.S. with 6 assists in four games played.
