Elliott Named to AHL All-Star Classic Roster

On Tuesday the American Hockey League announced the rosters for the upcoming 2015 AHL All-Star Classic in Utica, New York, and Monsters defenseman Stefan Elliott has been named to the Western Conference squad. The 2015 AHL All-Star Classic Presented by Turning Stone Resort and Casino will take place on January 25th and 26th at the Utica Memorial Auditorium, with the game scheduled for Monday, January 26th at 7:00 p.m.
Elliott has skated in all 33 of the Monsters games this season; he has 20 points on the campaign and is tied for the team lead in goals with nine. Elliott's six power play goals lead the team, and his eight power play points on the season are tied for the team lead. Elliott also leads the Monsters with three game-winning goals this season.
Elliott will be making his first appearance in the AHL All-Star Classic, and will be the first Monsters defenseman to participate in the event since Tyson Barrie in 2012.
A native of North Vancouver, British Columbia, Elliott will turn 24 on January 30th, 2015. Elliott is on pace for his best AHL season after notching 14 goals and 28 points in 61 games for the Monsters last season. Elliott, who was drafted in the second round (49th overall) by the Colorado Avalanche in 2009, has skated in 58 National Hockey League games for Colorado since 2011-12, totaling six goals and 12 assists.
The Monsters begin a five-game road trip on Friday in Rochester; game that starts at 7:05 p.m. and can be heard live on ESPN 850 WKNR. The Monsters return home to take on San Antonio on Thursday January 22nd at 7:00 p.m.

The Lake Erie Monsters are part of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena organization and also owned by a group led by Cavaliers Majority Owner and Quicken Loans Founder and Chairman Dan Gilbert. The group also owns and operates the Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League playing at Quicken Loans Arena and the Canton Charge of the NBA Development League playing in nearby Canton, Ohio at the Canton Civic Center.
