Omaha Lancers News Release
RALSTON, NE - Omaha Lancers forward Louie Rowe will play collegiate ice hockey following his junior career as he became the first member of the team to announce his commitment to the newest school in D1 hockey, Arizona State University this past weekend.
"It's an honor to be a part of something as big and new as this organization," said Rowe. "I couldn't have done it without my family, coaches, and teammates supporting me every step along the way! I'm so proud to be a Sun Devil, but there is so much more work to be done."
The East Lancing, Michigan native is in his second and final season with the Lancers. In his rookie year, Rowe scored three goals and added eight assists in 46 games played during the 2013-2014 campaign.
"We're thrilled for Louie," said Lancers head coach & general manager Brian Kaufman. "He is one of the hardest workers on the team. It's fantastic to see it all pay off for him and Arizona State will be a great fit."
Through the first 14 games of the year this season, Rowe had a total of four points (1g, 3a). Including this past weekend against Waterloo and Tri-City, the 6'6'' 230lb forward recorded a point in every game and has a 14 game point scoring streak going. In that span, Rowe has 15 points (8g, 7a).
