Tigers Acquire Hunt, Burroughs from Regina

Medicine Hat, AB - The Medicine Hat Tigers announced this morning the team has acquired Kyle Burroughs and Dryden Hunt from the Regina Pats in exchange for Connor Hobbs, a 2nd round pick in 2016 and a 3rd round pick in 2015.

Burroughs, a 19 year old defenseman from Langley, BC is a 7th round draft pick of the New York Islanders and has been captain of the Pats since the 2013-14 season. Burroughs has 5 goals and 17 assists for 22 points in 36 games so far this year and is a league leading plus 31. In his career Burroughs has suited up for 220 games registering 20 goals, 83 assists for 103 points with 264 PIM.

Hunt, a 19 year old forward from Nelson, BC is playing in his 4th WHL season. This year as an assistant captain, Hunt has recorded 14 goals and 33 assists (4th most in the WHL) for a team leading 47 points in 37 games. Hunt currently ranks 12th in the league in points . In 163 career games Hunt has 40 goals, 57 assists for 97 points.

"We are very excited about adding Dryden and Kyle to our roster," stated GM and Head Coach Shaun Clouston. "We look forward to welcoming them to the Tigers."

Both players will join the team for the upcoming BC Division road trip which begins in Victoria on Wednesday.
