Blast Defeat Heat 29-8

The Blast traveled to Harrisburg on Saturday night to matchup with the Heat for the second time this season. At the final buzzer, the Blast defeated the Heat 29-8 for their 9th win in a row.

The game got off to a fast start with 5 goals scored in the first quarter. The Blast gained the early lead when Juan Peirera scored the first goal of the game at the 2:27 mark off an assist from Pat Healey. At the 3:25 mark Onua Obasi scored off an assist from Mike Deasel to put the Blast up 4. The Heat got on the board when Kenneth Fultz scored a goal assisted by Tom Mellor. Before the end of the quarter both teams would exchange goals within 10 second of each other as Jonatas Melo scored for the Blast and Georges NouBossie scored for the Heat. At the end of the first the Blast led 6-4.

Both teams continued the fast pace in the second quarter. At the 1:12 mark Adriano Dos Santos began the scoring for the quarter off an assist rom Max Ferdinand. Pat Healey followed with a goal of his own assisted by Tony Donatelli putting the Blast up 10-4. The Blast kept attacking and at the 5:55 mark Lucio Gonzaga recorded his 8th goal of the season off an assist from Drew Ruggles. The Heat were able to cut into the Blast lead with a goal from Tom Mellor but the Blast were able to pull further away before the end of the half. Jerjer Gibson hit a 3-point goal for the Blast and then with only :04 seconds left in the half Max Ferdinand also scored for the Blast making the score 17-6.

The second half saw the scoring continue. The Blast were able to get on the board :30 seconds into the quarter when Vini Dantas scored off an assist from Tony Donatelli. Moments later at the 1:18 mark Adriano Dos Santos scored his second goal of the game off a restart pushing the Blast lead to 15. After a Heat goal, Max Ferdinand was able to beat the clock again for his second goal of the game with only a minute remaining in the quarter. The Blast went into the final quarter leading23-8.

During the fourth quarter the Blast were able to control the game and add to their lead. Vini Dantas scored his second goal of the game only :53 seconds into the quarter. The Blast had two players finish off hat tricks before the end of the quarter as Adriano Dos Santos and Vini Dantas both scored another goal each to seal the Blast victory. The final score was 29-8.

The Blast move to 9-0 on the season. The Blast offense led the way with Adriano Dos Santos and Vini Dantas recording hat tricks and 9 different Blast players recording goals. In goal for the Blast Phil Saunders got the win in his Blast debut while recording 8 saves. Defensively Pat Healey recorded 3 blocks while Onua Obasi had 2.

The Blast return home next weekend to take on the Syracuse Silver Knights. The game is Saturday, January 10th at 7:35 p.m.
