Green, Smallman, Chabot Win Monthly Awards

SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs have announced their player and student of the month, and the hardest working forward and defenceman, for December.

Rookie defenceman Luke Green is the Irving Oil Player of the Month.

Green, 16, tallied four goals and ten points in nine games last month. Highlights included a goal and assist in the Sea Dogs' 4-3 loss to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on December 18th, and his first career two-goal game in a 6-5 loss against the Moncton Wildcats on December 28th. The Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia, native also posted a +5 rating in December.

Forward Spencer Smallman is the Swagelok Student of the Month.

Smallman, 18, earned many votes from teachers at St. Malachy's Memorial High School for this honour. His work ethic in Environmental Science 120 drew high praise from his teacher. Good academic standing along with a respectful demeanor highlighte d the his academic success.

As a proud sponsor of the QMJHL, Ryobi Power T ools is pleased to acknowledge Smallman as the Ryobi Hardest Working Forward of the Month and Thomas Chabot as the Ryobi Hardest Working Defenceman of the Month.

In ten games, the Fredericton-native Smallman registered four goals and five assists for nine points along with a +8 rating. Chabot, 17, from Ste-Marie-de-Beauce, Quebec, had one goal and four assists for five points and a +6 rating through ten games in December.

Their dependability, quality of play and commitment this past month have earned them this honour.

They have won a Ryobi Hardest Working Player prize pack, and are now one step closer to becoming the QMJHL seasonal winner of a Ryobi $2000 scholarship and a Ryobi 18V Lithium 6-piece combo kit.
