TOLEDO, OH - The Toledo Walleye are inviting fans to embrace the weather at this historic outdoor event to help break the Walleye hockey attendance record set at the Saturday, December 26 outdoor hockey game against Kalamazoo.
History was made that night when 11,222 fans filled the stadium at Fifth Third Field for the first-ever ECHL outdoor hockey game.
Now fans have the chance to make history again on Saturday, January 3 when the Toledo Walleye face Fort Wayne Komets at 6:30 p.m. Come cheer on your Toledo Walleye and enjoy hockey as it was originally played - outdoors!
Saturday's lineup is a hat trick of exciting hockey beginning at noon, when Bowling Green State University takes on Robert Morris University -- both teams are in the Top 20 college hockey ranking. Following that match-up, the hockey greats from Toledo and Fort Wayne will show off their skills when they take the ice at 4:30 p.m. in the Alumni game (gates open at 4p.m.). The puck drops for Walleye - Komets match-up at 6:30 p.m.
