MISSISSAUGA, ON - Looking to bounce back from a loss at the Hershey Centre on Sunday afternoon, the Mississauga Steelheads rode Highway 69 North to the Sudbury Community Arena on Tuesday evening. Despite a losing record away from home, the Trout kept their recent road successes alive, picking up their fourth straight victory outside of the Hershey Centre.

With the recent news of Spencer Martin's season-ending injury, Cameron Zanussi stepped in between the pipes for his second straight start for the Steelheads. Despite his limited experience, "Zeus" started the game looking like a seasoned veteran, keeping calm and making saves while facing a flurry of shots. Unfortunately, a string of penalties would hurt the Trout as Mississauga-native Kyle Capobianco was able to sneak a point shot through with the man advantage. The Steelheads would respond quickly, however, as Jared Walsh found an open Stefan LeBlanc streaking out of the penalty box. Although Sudbury's Jeff Corbett would catch up to him, LeBlanc would carry him in on the partial break, beating Troy Timpano to knot the game at 1 midway through the first. Despite no further goals in the period, Bobby MacIntyre found himself with a great opportunity cutting across the front of the net, while Sudbury responded with a flurry of shots late in the period. Still, a couple of Sudbury penalties would halt the offense, sending the teams to the intermission tied at 1.

With 55 seconds of power play time on the clock to start the second frame, Mississauga looked to take a lead early. The penalty would expire, however the sustained pressure resulted in a Sam Babintsev shot pulling Timpano from his crease and giving Bryson Cianfrone a wide open net to tap the puck into; Jimmy Lodge also picked up an assist on the play. The goal would be the lone marker in an otherwise physical period; still both goalies stood on their heads to turn away a number of scoring opportunities, including a great glove save by Timpano to rob Cianfrone late in the period.

Like Mississauga's Captain did in the second, Sudbury's Captain started the third period looking to make an impact. Brody Silk did just that only 89 seconds into the period, banging home the game-tying marker from Cole Mayo and Ivan Kashtanov. The Steelheads would respond quickly again, however, as LeBlanc made a tremendous play to keep the puck in the offensive zone and trigger a flurry of passes, eventually finding the back of the net of the stick of Brandon Devlin. Lodge and Babintsev would pick up their second assists of the game on the goal. Zeus would be tested immediately following the goal, as Pezzetta broke in alone; the rookie netminder would win the battle with a quick glove hand, robbing the speedy forward. With the Steelheads penalty killing unit shining, Mississauga found its insurance goal immediately after a successful kill; with Cianfrone streaking down the wing, he found an open Sean Day, who generated a rebound for Babintsev to bang home. Sudbury looked to respond with a late penalty shot, however Chad Heffernan could not solve "Zeus", sealing the game's final score at 4-2 Mississauga.
