(EVANSVILLE, Ind.) - The Evansville Otters continue to build for next season and are bringing back many of the key pieces from the 2014 playoff team.

The Otters announced on Tuesday that they have exercised the contracts of 21 players from last season's playoff team. That was a goal for manager Andy McCauley.

"With a fairly successful 2014 season, I will be looking to bring back as many players as possible for 2015," said McCauley. "Not just because the success on the field, but the great chemistry among teammates we enjoyed this past season. It was a great group of young men. I am looking forward to the development of young players and the mentoring and leadership from the experienced players."

Returning players for next season include INF Josh Allen, 1B Nik Balog, LHP Cody Boutte, LHP Anthony Collazo, catcher Kolin Conner, catcher Jaime Del Valle, OF J.R. Higley, RHP Connor Little, RHP Edgar Lopez, RHP Eric Massingham, LHP Blake Monar, RHP Evan Mott, OF Jeremy Nowak, RHP Will Oliver, RHP Preston Olson, OF John Schultz, RHP Brandon Shimo, OF Chris Sweeney, INF Cory Urquhart, RHP Trevor Walch, and INF Phillip Wilson.

Evansville also signed third baseman Pat Kregeloh. A native of Effort, Pennsylvania, Kregeloh began his professional career last season with the Washington Wild Things, although, only appeared in five games.

" Pat had a limited opportunity with Washington last season," added McCauley. "I have worked him out this off season and was pleasantly surprised. With the departure of Frontier League MVP Shayne Houck to the Arizona Diamondbacks, Pat will be looking to compete for that position."

The Otters begin the 2015 season at home on Friday, May 15 when they host the Traverse City Beach Bums in a 6:35 p.m. game at Historic Bosse Field.

This year is the upcoming 100th Anniversary of Bosse Field's first ballgame in 1915. The Otters will have a year-long celebration to commemorate the event with more details to be released at a future date.
