2015 Worcester Bravehearts Roster Preview

December 23, 2014 - Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL)
Worcester Bravehearts News Release

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the clubhouse

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;

The jerseys were hung in the lockers with care,

In hopes that the trophy would simply stay there;

Worcester's fans were nestled all snug in their beds;

While visions of homeruns danced in their heads;

Coach Hartigan in his ballcap knew what to do - He had just inked the roster for summer number two.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from the pressbox to see what was the matter.

Down to the field, I flew like a flash,

When I noticed TJ Riccio had returned for a dash.

With him was newcomer, righthander Chas Lacko

To balance him out, there was lefthander Joe Caico

When what to my twinkling eyes did appear,

But a minivan full of eight more players in gear,

With a speedy driver so lively and quick,

I knew he must be Morton whose first name is Nick.

More rapid than eagles his passengers they came,

Coach Edwards whistled, shouted, and called them by name:

"Now, Fullmer! Now, Butler! Now, Collet and Mollett!

On, Bruemmel! On, Brown! On, Witkowski and Woods!

To the top of the steps! To the top of the wall!

Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away Coggeshall!"

So up to the concourse the players they flew

With bats, balls, and gloves to see who else they knew,

And then the next moment, we heard at the plate

The loud snap of glove leather from each teammate.

As I drew in my breath and was turning around,

Through the gate, Ricciardi and Brennan came in with a bound.

With them several more Bravehearts entered that way,

And their uniforms were tarnished with dirt, dust, and clay;

They were Dostal, Gauthier, Tower and Lamboy,

Joined by Mantoni and Maxwell beaming with joy.

Their bats cracked with booms as they all swung away!

Launching loads of baseballs up on the freeway!

They all huddled up as a group in the dugout

When everyone was then alarmed by a shout.

Still more boys of summer were arriving to play,

There was San Felippo, Noworyta and Bleday.

Then another player, Indeglia, inquired

Where's the rest of our team, their talents are required?

No sooner had those very words left his mouth,

Then arrived Gibree and Lake up north from the south.

Next pulled in Sanchez - there are two, Alex and Endy,

Followed up by Mulford, Neil, and Stagani.

Rounding out the squad were four more poised for a save

There's De La Cruz, Ameer, Anderson, and Cave.

Last but certainly not least, enter Bobby Dragon,

Proving that this Bravehearts' lineup really ain't laggin'.

This crew was now forming into a ball team

Pulling together while they follow their dream.

On this squad, will there be any new homerun kings?

Will this team win enough for all to earn rings?

Will there be highlights featured again on Sportscenter?

How many records in the books will they enter?

The fun and the answers to questions must wait.

But who's ready for Hanover Insurance Park to open the gate?

As the weather this winter causes a racket,

Think of Peterman dancing in his tacky jacket.

There's something I'd like to share with summer in sight,

"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight!"
