Rochester Red Wings News Release

ROCHESTER, NY (December 22, 2014) - The Minnesota Twins have signed former Red Wings first baseman Brock Peterson to a minor league contract. The Twins also inked veteran Major League reliever Wil Ledezma to a minor league deal and re-signed Red Wings catcher Dan Rohlfing.

Peterson, 31, spent the entire 2014 season in Triple-A splitting his year between Syracuse (Nationals) and Albuquerque (Dodgers) where he hit a combined .301 with 15 homers, 26 doubles and 67 RBI in 117 games.

The Centralia, Wash. native played in Rochester from 2008-10 hitting 31 homers and collecting 106 RBI over 238 games in a Red Wings uniform.

A 49th-round selection of the Twins in 2002, Peterson made his Major League debut in 2013 with the St. Louis Cardinals. Peterson also led the Pacific Coast League that year with 25 home runs and a .531 slugging percentage with Memphis.

Over his 12-year career, he's collected 186 home runs in 1,309 games.

Ledezma, who spent last season posting a 1.91 ERA in 27 games for Yucatan of the Mexican League, is back in affiliated baseball for the first time since 2012.

The 33-year-old southpaw has pitched in parts of nine Major League seasons with Detroit (2003-07), Atlanta (2007), San Diego (2007-08), Arizona (2008), Washington (2009), Pittsburgh (2010) and Toronto (2011) compiling a career 15-25 record and a 5.40 ERA in 192 games (40 starts).

Ledezma was originally signed by Boston as an amateur free agent in 1998 and over his 12-year minor league career has averaged better than a strikeout per inning (612 SO/577.2 IP).

Rohlfing, 25, has hit .236 with four homers and 35 RBI in 101 games with the Red Wings over the past two years. Last season, he spent the entire year with the Wings throwing out 13 of 33 base stealers (39%).

He made Red Wings history on August 3 when he became the first Wings position player to ever earn a save as he preserved a 6-5 lead in the 15th inning at Louisville.

Rohlfing joins Mark Hamburger, Danny Ortiz, Reynaldo Rodriguez, James Beresford, Eric Farris and Doug Bernier as 2014 Red Wings to re-sign with the Minnesota Twins.

The Red Wings' 2015 campaign begins April 9 against the Buffalo Bisons at Coca-Cola Field. The Wings will open the gates at Frontier Field for a 19th season on April 11 against the Bisons.
