Philadelphia Union to Host Colorado for 2015 Season Opener

Chester, Pa. (Dec. 19, 2014) - Major League Soccer announced Friday the Philadelphia Union will open the 2015 MLS season at PPL Park against the Colorado Rapids on Saturday, March 7, at 4:00 p.m.

The Union are 3-2-0 all-time in home-openers, including a 1-0 victory over the New England Revolution last season. The lone goal was scored by Sebastien Le Toux, who has made a name for himself in Union home openers by tallying five goals and an assist in four matches.

MLS also announced the Union will travel to Salt Lake City, Utah, to face Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday, March 14. The pair of sides have tied 5-of-7 all-time matches.

In additional news, Philadelphia also announced Thursday it is moving spring training operations to Clearwater, Fla., where it will train in preparation for the 2015 season. For all information regarding ticket packages to see the Union in Clearwater, click here.

The 2015 MLS season marks the first of an eight-year landmark television and media rights partnerships with ESPN, FOX Sports and Univision networks.

All three partners will feature an exclusive MLS Match of the Week for the first time in League history. The Univision family of networks will televise a game of the week on Friday evenings - primarily on UniMás. On Sundays, ESPN and FOX Sports networks will broadcast back-to-back MLS matches at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET, respectively.

Additional information on times and broadcast details for these games and others will be revealed in the coming weeks as part of the complete 2015 regular season schedule announcement.
