TONIGHT:
The Ontario Reign (12-8-1-3) begin a busy home schedule for the week (four games in five nights) with a match against the Idaho Steelheads (15-8-1-1). This is the fifth meeting of the season between these two clubs, and the final time in 2014 that the Reign will host the Steelheads; Idaho will make a return to Citizens Business Bank Arena for a three-game set against Ontario at the end of January.
SHORTHANDED BLUELINE:
With the recent spate of injuries and call-ups that have hit the Reign blueline, Jason Christie has been forced to get creative, converting winger Everett Sheen to defense for the past few games; Sheen was placed on reserve on Tuesday, leaving the team with only four healthy defenders.
JULSETH-WHITE STEPPING UP OFFSENIVELY:
After taking advantage of a failed clearing attempt by the Grizzlies on Friday, Nolan Julseth-White netted his first goal of the season - and first in a Reign uniform. The blueliner has settled in, thanks in part to familiarity with several Reign players, namely former Las Vegas Wranglers teammates Jeff May and Judd Blackwater.
BLACKWATER & CARZO BUZZING AGAINST IDAHO:
Forwards Judd Blackwater and Rocco Carzo have been instrumental for Ontario against Idaho this season; they're tied for the team lead in goals against the Steelheads, each with three goals in four games. Blackwater is only two points shy of 250 career pro points.
