Lowell Spinners News Release

LOWELL, MASS. - The Lowell Spinners, Class-A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, will be hosting the second annual "Christmas at LeLacheur" open house event at LeLacheur Park Saturday, December 20, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Admission and activities are free of charge.

The day will include a visit from Santa Claus himself, plus opportunities to make snowflakes with Queen Elsa from Frozen and more. In addition, the Spinners Souvenir Store will have clear out prices and the ticket office will be open for last minute holiday shoppers.

"This is a great opportunity to spread the holiday cheer," said Spinners President and General Manager Tim Bawmann. "Every parent needs a break from the stress of the holiday season and this event is designed to offer just that, be it visiting Santa without the hassle of the mall or the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make snowflakes with Elsa."

The event coincides with the third annual media day for the Junior Lowell Spinners, the Elite Baseball Program that calls LeLacheur Park their home. The players and coaches will be having their 2015 photos taken, their Web bios created and other activities utilizing the home clubhouse in preparations for their upcoming season.

"We really take pride in making the Junior Spinners an extension of our family," said Bawmann. "This is an opportunity to have the kids in the clubhouse, in the locker room, experiencing many of the same things the actual Spinners players do."

Santa Claus will be available for free photos and visits from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., while Elsa will be available from 10:30-12:30. Parking for the event is free and available in the UMass-Lowell Parking Garage for all attendees.
