Indy Eleven News Release

INDIANAPOLIS (Wednesday, December 17, 2014) - The countdown to Indy Eleven's second campaign in the North American Soccer League is officially underway with today's unveiling of the league's 2015 Spring Season schedule. Indy Eleven's 10-game Spring calendar will begin 108 days from today on Saturday, April 4, when Indiana's Team will head south for an away affair against the Atlanta Silverbacks.

Indy Eleven will make its return to IUPUI's Michael A. Carroll Stadium a week later on Saturday, April 11, to open its home schedule with a high-profile, 7:30 p.m. ET showdown against the New York Cosmos, featuring signing of Spanish goal-scoring legend Raul.

"There's a lot for everyone in the Indy Eleven family to look forward to in 2015, and April can't get here fast enough for any of us," said Indy Eleven President/General Manager Peter Wilt. "We're pleased that, from a competitive standpoint, our Spring Season schedule is as balanced as it could possibly be with alternating home and away dates. That also makes it very friendly for the best fans in the NASL, who can again circle Saturday nights at Carroll Stadium on their calendars during the spring."

With 11 teams participating in the 2015 NASL Spring Season, the abbreviated slate allows for one game against each team, five home and five away. As was the case in 2014, the Spring Season champion will earn one of the two top seeds in The Championship, the NASL's four-team postseason tournament. For the teams that did not capture either the Spring or Fall title, the remaining two postseason spots will go to the sides that accumulated the most combined points over the course of the Spring and Fall Seasons. Visit NASL.com for the league's full Spring Season schedule; the Fall Season schedule is due to be released in early January.

"Our competition format is a byproduct of the number of teams we have in the league at this time," said NASL Commissioner Bill Peterson. "The schedule will balance out when we reach 16 or 17 teams, but in the meantime, we think the Spring Season will always be a dog fight and something that will be extremely fun for all of our fans to watch."

All five Spring Season games for Indy Eleven at Carroll Stadium will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET. On-sale details for single-game tickets will be announced by the club in the coming weeks, while full, 16-game 2015 Season Ticket packages are currently on sale, starting at just $144.

If Indy Eleven's matches in Atlanta during 2014 serve as any indication, the 2015 season opener will be one to watch. Indiana's Team took points from both its visits to Silverbacks Park last season, courtesy of a wild 3-3 draw in the Spring finale (May 7) and a 2-1, comeback win during Fall Season play (Sep. 6).

A week later, the "Boys in Blue" will return to Indiana and carry over both a two-game home winning streak and 14-game league sellout streak at "The Mike" when the Cosmos come for Raul's first visit to the Circle City. Indy Eleven was the only squad to go undefeated against the then-defending-champion Cosmos last season thanks to a trio of draws, including a dramatic 2-2 duel in their lone meeting at Carroll Stadium on Aug. 30.

With Indy Eleven's Spring Season schedule alternating between home and away contests, the next match will feature a road trip to meet the reigning NASL champion San Antonio Scorpions on April 18 before coming back to the Hoosier State to take on the Carolina RailHawks on April 25.

Indy will start off May with a bye week before heading to Florida for its first match-up with expansion side Jacksonville Armada FC on May 9. The rotation continues on May 16, when Indy Eleven comes back to Carroll Stadium to host Minnesota United FC, featuring the runaway 2014 NASL Golden Boot winner Christian Ramirez and recent U.S. Men's National Team call-up and 2014 NASL Golden Ball (MVP) recipient Miguel Ibarra. After venturing north of the border over Memorial Day weekend to square off with "Class of 2014" mate Ottawa Fury FC at the gleaming new TD Place, Indy Eleven will welcome the Tampa Bay Rowdies, now helmed by colorful head coach Thomas Rongen, to Indianapolis on May 30.

Indy Eleven's brief June slate will begin with a second trip to the Sunshine State inside a month, this time to face the 2014 runner-up Fort Lauderdale Strikers on June 6. Indy Eleven will then close out its Spring schedule at "The Mike" with a June 13 meeting against FC Edmonton before taking a short break before the start of the lengthier Fall Season in early July.
