Forward Nathan Walker Recalled to Hershey

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 22 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry, announced today that forward Nathan Walker has been recalled to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL) by the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Walker, 20, became the first Australian player drafted by an NHL team when the Capitals selected the Sydney native in the third round (89th overall) in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound forward skated in two games with the Stingrays, netting a goal and an assist. In 23 games with the Bears this season, Walker picked up one goal and three assists for four points and dressed in 43 games with the Bears last season, netting 11 points (five goals, six assists).

Prior to turning pro, Walker battled in a half a season of North American junior hockey with the Youngstown Phantoms of the United States Hockey League (USHL) and over four seasons in the Czech Republic.
