ON THE BOARD - Mike Wilson found the back of the net twice this past week. He scored both goals on the power play, which are his first two of the season.

BIG TIME BORON - Tim Boron stopped all 25 shots he faced on Saturday night to help the Thunder break a three-game losing skid. The shutout on Saturday was Boron's second of the season, and 14th of his professional career. He claimed his sixth victory and dropped his goals against average down to 2.86.

CLOSED FOR BUSINESS - Tim Boron and Tyler Bunz have two shutouts each this season. Boron collected his second in a Thunder uniform on Saturday night. Both Thunder netminders are tied for first place in the league with two shutouts, along with four other goalies.

LEADERBOARD - Danick Gauthier tallied four points (1g, 3a) over his last three outings, moving himself into 11th in the ECHL with 25 points. Gauthier also shares the lead for the most power play points in the league with 13, including three from last week and is in second place in power play goals with five.

DISHIN' IT OUT - Rookie forward Ian Duval has collected seven assists through his first 10 pro games. Duval had assists in four straight games at the end of November, and one helper in each game last week.

TAKING ADVANTAGE - The Thunder power play has recorded a goal in each of the last four games, including two of those outings where Wichita was able to find the back of the net twice. Over that span, Wichita is 6-for-24, good for a 25% clip. The Thunder also had a season-high nine power plays on Saturday night.

KILLIN' IT - The Thunder penalty killing unit has been terrific this season at home. Wichita is first overall in that department, only allowing three goals against on 50 times shorthanded (94%). In fact, the last time Wichita gave up a power play goal at home was on November 15th against Allen. The Thunder went a perfect 10-for-10 on the kill this weekend and pushed their home streak to seven-straight without allowing a power play goal. The most impressive stat pertaining to the team's penalty kill is they have only given up a power play goal in two of their 13 homes games so far through this point in the season.

FIRSTS - Wichita had given up the first goal in seven-straight games until Saturday night, when Mike Wilson beat Danny Battochio to give the Thunder a 1-0 lead. When scoring first, Wichita is 7-2-0-1. The Thunder are 3-8-1-1 when giving up the first goal of the game.

40 - Wichita has hit the 40-shot plateau in three of their last six games. Overall, the Thunder has fired 40 or more on net in five games this season. Wichita's season-high in shots is 49, which was on November 18th in a 4-3 shootout loss at Tulsa.

IN THE COMMUNITY - Players and staff will be out ringing the bells tomorrow afternoon to help the Salvation Army raise money for a great cause. Join us at Walmart on the west side of Wichita at 21st and Maize Road from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Thunder would like to also thank the fans for their generous donations on Saturday night during the team's annual Teddy Bear Toss and Toys for Tots Drive, presented by Bank of the West and Hajoca. Players will be distributing bears to local hospitals and charities over the next couple of weeks in hopes to bring a smile to child's face during the holidays.
