December 15, 2014 - California League (CalL1)
Inland Empire 66ers News Release

San Bernardino, CA- The Inland Empire 66ers, the Los Angeles Angels Advance-A California League affiliate, announced that Field Manager Denny Hocking will return in his role as Field Manager for the 2015 season. It will be the 13-season MLB veteran's second year at the helm of the Inland Empire club and his third as a manager in the Angels organization having led the Tempe Angels to an Arizona League playoff berth in 2013. Hocking's entire staff will return to San Manuel Stadium as well. Hitting Coach Brenton Del Chiaro is back for his third season with the team and Pitching Coach Matt Wise will also enjoy an encore in San Bernardino.

Hocking, who spent the bulk of his playing career in a Minnesota Twins uniform, coached in the Baltimore organization for three seasons prior to being hired for the Angels' chain. In 2014, Hocking guided the 66ers to the league's Southern Division second half championship. After defeating the Lake Elsinore Storm in the first round of the 2014 playoffs, the 66ers were eliminated by the eventual Cal League Champion Lancaster JetHawks. His club played inspired baseball from Independence Day on as the Sixers went 36-20 to finish the year, a stretch that included a ten-game win-streak.

Re-joining Hocking, Del Chiaro and Wise will be Athletic Trainer Omar Uribe and Strength and Conditioning Coordinator Sergio Rojas. Uribe and Rojas will be enjoying their third campaigns with the club; both were on staff for Inland Empire's 2013 California League title run.

The 66ers open the 2015 regular season on Thursday, April 9th when they face the Stockton Ports at San Manuel Stadium. Fans can currently purchase season tickets or group packages for the upcoming campaign by contacting the front office at (909) 888-9922. To learn more visit www.66ers.com.
