Saskatoon Blades News Release

The Saskatoon Blades have a new addition for their off-ice team to bolster their efforts in the areas of business and community. Bob Fawcett, a well-known leader in the city of Saskatoon, has joined the Blades as a Business Advisor.

"We are thrilled to have a person of Bob's character on board," says Blades president Steve Hogle. "His reputation speaks for itself and we share the same values, including integrity, hard work and community."

"I am impressed with the new leadership team of the Blades," adds Bob. "I like the way they're building for the future and I'm excited to have the opportunity to be a part of that process."

Bob, who was born and raised in Saskatoon, retired as Assistant Chief of the Saskatoon Fire Department after 31 years of service. He's always been very involved with leaders in both the business and community worlds. He's also been a tireless volunteer, having been involved with the Saskatoon Minor Hockey Association for the past 28 years, including time as President of SMHA. Bob still leads the Kinsmen Inner City Hockey League.

A unique arrangement between the Blades and the Kelowna Rockets will see Bob work with the Blades in the areas of business and community while continuing his work with the Rockets scouting on the hockey operations side, which he has been doing for the past 16 years.

As the Blades welcome Bob on board, they also thank Bruce Hamilton and his Kelowna Rockets for their support in this unique venture.
