Tomahawks Score Six In Victory Over Jr. Blues

Trevor Recktenwald scored twice and Dakoda Menslage added three assists, as the Johnstown Tomahawks defeated the Springfield Jr. Blues 6-3 on Saturday night in Springfield, Ill.
Recktenwald got the Tomahawks on the board first, scoring 1:16 into the first period. Casey Linkenheld and Menslage earned the assists on Recktenwald's 7th of the season.
Less than two minutes later, Ryan Bochert extended the lead with his third goal of the season. Collin Montgomery earned his second assist in his last four games on the goal.
Later in the period, Grant Meyer pulled Springfield within one with a power-play goal at 6:05.
The score remained 2-1 for just 28 seconds, as Recktenwald scored his second goal of the game. Joe Drabin and Menslage each earned assists on the goal. Recktenwald now has three goals in his last four games.
Drabin extended the Tomahawks lead to 4-1 5:36 into the second period. Linkenheld and Recktenwald had the assists on Drabin's 8th of the season.
Linkenheld made it 5-1 at 13:29 of the second period. Menslage picked up his third assist of the game on the goal.
Late in the second period, Luke Lynch put the Tomahawks sixth goal past Springfield goaltender Niko Dellamaggorie. Bochert added the assist on the shorthanded goal.
Joshua Lammon got the Jr. Blues back on the board with a power-play goal 1:33 into the third period. Meyer got the third goal on the board for the Jr. Blues with his second of the game at 13:29 .
Ryan Bednard earned the win, stopping 41 of 44 shots. Dellamaggorie suffered the loss, stopping 12 of 18 shots. Dryden McKay came in for the Jr. Blues in the third period, stopping all five shots he faced.
