Quad City Mallards News Release
WICHITA, Kan. (December 12, 2014) - Mario Lamoureux scored one goal and assisted on two more and Parker Milner made 31 saves as the Quad City Mallards (9-8-5) defeated the host Wichita Thunder (9-10-4) 3-1 Friday night.
Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel snapped a 1-1 deadlock with what proved to be the winning goal by roofing the puck with two minutes left in the second period.
Milner made 14 saves in the third period alone to set the stage for Joe Perry's late insurance goal. Perry buried Justin Fox's cross ice pace with 3:26 left in the game to finish off the Thunder.
The Mallards had first moved in front with Lamoureux's wrist shot from the slot at 4:18 of the first period.
The Thunder was on the power play when Theo Peckham tied the game at one by converting Ian Lowe's centering feed at 7:09 of the second period, but Milner would make sure Wichita got no closer.
The Mallards return to action tomorrow night on the road against the Tulsa Oilers. The Mallards next play at home next Wednesday night, December 17 at 7:05 p.m. against the Brampton Beast. Fans can get four tickets to Mallards Wednesday night home games for just $20. After each Wednesday night home tilt, fans can join the Mallards at T.G.I. Friday's in Moline for a postgame party.
