Falcons goaltender Anton Forsberg turned away 26 of 27 shots in victory. Admirals goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 32 of 34. Springfield was able to convert on one of three power play opportunities, while the penalty kill unit shut down both Admirals man-advantages.

The Falcons opened scoring at the 13:59 mark of the first period, but the Admirals were able to even the score before the intermission. Alexander Wennberg passed up to Austin Madaisky at the right point. Bryzgalov made the save on Madaisky's shot, but left the rebound out for Marko Dano to pick up in the crease. The Admirals got on the board with 3:23 remaining in the frame. Jared Nightingale fired a shot from the point that was tipped past Forsberg by Max Friberg. Nic Kerdiles earned a point for the secondary assist. The goal sent toys flying on the ice for the Admiral's Annual Toy Toss.

Norfolk attempted to make a comeback when the team was awarded a penalty shot with 21 seconds remaining in the third period. Emerson Etem took the shot for the Admirals, but Forsberg was able to make the save.

Sean Collins added an empty net goal before the final horn to secure a 3-1 victory for the Falcons.
