Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release
DUBUQUE, IA-During the time of year where it's needed most, the Dubuque Fighting Saints and CenturyLink are giving back to those in need. The organizations partnered for "The Hunger Games" Canned Food Drive presented by CenturyLink at the Fighting Saints November 7 game, and the event was highly successful. Over 600 pounds of canned food items were collected for the Dubuque Food Pantry courtesy of the event.
"We're pleased to have partnered with the Dubuque Fighting Saints to support the canned food drive and the Dubuque Food Pantry," said Tim White, CenturyLink vice president of operations for Iowa, Kansas and Missouri. "We hope this event will raise not only donations, but awareness of this issue here in Dubuque."
In addition to helping spur members of the Tri-State's generously by providing fans that donated a canned food item $2 off per ticket to the November 7 game, CenturyLink also made a generous $500 donation to the Dubuque Food Pantry to help those in need.
Over the past three years, CenturyLink and the Fighting Saints have teamed up to donate over 1,700 pounds of canned food items to local food banks.
