Albany Devils Come up Short against Hartford Wolf Pack

HARTFORD, CT -- Reid Boucher and Rod Pelley both scored, but the Albany Devils lost, 3-2, against the Hartford Wolf Pack Thursday at XL Center. Albany played from behind for most of the game, allowing a pair of goals within the first seven minutes of play. Unable to pull even, the Devils moved to 11-9-1-4, while the Wolf Pack improved to 13-9-2-1.

Hartford established an early lead thanks to Chris Bourque's between-the-legs tally at 3:43 and Justin Vaive's power-play goal at 6:35 of the first period.

Boucher cut into the deficit at 11:23. Mark Fraser moved the puck to Eric Baier at the right point. Baier sent a rocket towards the goal and Boucher redirected the attempt past Hartford's Cedrick Desjardins.

Bourque responded with is second of the night, picking the upper-right corner over Scott Clemmensen's shoulder at 11:53 with the man advantage.

In the third period, Pelley took a loose puck from the atop the crease and sent it into the upper-right corner at 9:00 for the game's final goal.

Clemmensen, who was returned on loan from New Jersey Tuesday, made 30 saves in his sixth AHL appearance this season. At the other end, Desjardins turned aside 32 saves for his sixth victory.

Notes

Reid Boucher, who was returned on loan from New Jersey Wednesday, netted his fifth goal of the season and second in the last three games ... Rod Pelley registered his second goal on the year and first since an empty netter on Oct. 25 against Hartford ... Myles Bell made his AHL debut after being recalled from Evansville (ECHL) Wednesday ... Eric Baier assisted on both Albany's goals ... Scott Clemmensen made his first start since Nov. 15 at Portland ... The Devils went 0-4 on the power play and 4-6 on the penalty kill ... Albany is 2-2-0-1 against Hartford this season.
