D.C. United Trades International Roster Slot to Orlando City SC

Washington, D.C. (December 8, 2014) - D.C. United has announced that the club has traded international roster slots for the 2015 and 2016 Major League Soccer seasons with Orlando City SC in exchange for allocation money.

D.C. United finished the 2014 MLS regular season with a 17-9-8 record and the top overall seed in the Eastern Conference MLS Cup Playoffs, setting a club record for points in a season (59), and accumulating honors for Coach of the Year (Ben Olsen) and Goalkeeper of the Year (Bill Hamid). The Black-and-Red also went undefeated in 2014-15 CONCACAF Champions League group play to earn the No. 1 seed in the region competition's championship stage. United will face Alajuelense of Costa Rica in the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals, with the first leg taking place in Costa Rica on Feb. 26, 2015, and the return leg March 4 at RFK Stadium.
