Seasoned TV and radio broadcaster Cole Pepper joins Armada FC to anchor club's broadcasting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (December 8, 2014)- Seasoned television, radio and digital media broadcaster and journalist, Cole Pepper, is the latest signing for Jacksonville's new professional North American Soccer League team, the Armada FC.

The popular radio personality and TV broadcaster joins the Armada FC to direct the club's newly-formed broadcast and digital media department.Pepper will also serve as the "Voice of the Armada" on the team's television and radio broadcasts on CW 17 and iHeartRadio and will handle presentation and play-by-play duties on all Armada FC television broadcasts.

"Cole is a well-known and highly-respected figure in Jacksonville sports and it's great to welcome him on board the Armada," said Armada FC President Steve Livingstone."He is the consummate broadcast professional who brings over 20 years' experience in broadcasting and journalism to our club. Cole will direct and elevate our television and radio broadcasts and coverage to the highest level."

Pepper, a fixture on the Jacksonville sports scene since 1996, previously spent 15 seasons on the Jacksonville Jaguars radio broadcasts and has called play-by-play for the ArenaFootball League's Jacksonville Sharks (TV), Jacksonville University football (radio and TV), basketball and baseball (radio) as well as Minor League Baseball's Jacksonville Suns (radio).

He also served as the play-by-play voice forBolles High School football on radio and previously called games for the AF2's Jacksonville Tomcats. A versatile and respected broadcaster, Pepper also serves as a fill-in sports anchor for WJXT Channel 4 and also appears on WJCT radio's First Coast Connect as that stations sports analyst.

Since April, Pepper has hosted the weekly "Armada Soccer Show" every Friday at 3 p.m. onWFXJ, Sportsradio 930 alongside veteran former English professional soccer player Bob Veal. Pepper will team up with Veal, the Armada FC's Krissty Andaur and a crew of soccer guests to bring soccer fans throughout Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia full coverage of the club's inaugural 2015 season in the NASL.

All of the Armada FC's 32 regular season matches will be broadcast either live or on a highlights basis on the club's television partner station, CW17.The station will also air a weekly Armada FC Preview Show on Friday evenings. In addition, Armada FC matches will be broadcast live on radio on Sportsradio 930 AM.

After moving from his native Kansas City in 1996,Pepper worked for WBWL radio and subsequently became the Sports Director for sister-station WOKV, where he earned more than a dozen Associated Press radio awards, including "Best Sportscast in Florida" on three occasions.

Prior to his move to Jacksonville,Pepper wrote for the Associated Press and Kansas City Star, covering sports at his alma mater, the University of Kansas, as well as covering the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals.

In 2013, Cole launchedWhitePepper Sports Marketing, a division of Client Focused Media.

Pepper speaks at numerous charity and community events.He serves on the Board of Trustees for Daniel kids, Florida's oldest child service agency.The past six years, he and his in-laws have run the Jacksonville Backyard BBQ Championships, a fundraiser for the Glyn Cook Memorial Scholarship for Daniel kids, which helps to pay for the costs of college for Daniel kids who have graduated from high school and are pursuing a college degree. Pepper and his wife Emily, a fifth-generation Jacksonville native, live in Avondale.
