Grizzlies Fall in Wheeling, Home Wednesday with Alaska

Wheeling, West Virginia - The Wheeling Nailers scored five unanswered goals starting late in the second period to break a 2-2 tie and beat the Utah Grizzlies 7-3 Saturday night at WesBanco Arena.
The Nailers built a 2-0 lead with a shorthanded goal 3:56 into the first and a four-on-three power-play goal at 10:23 of the opening period.
Utah though, then went on a tear and outshot Wheeling 26-4 in a 22 minute and 57 second stretch to tie the game. Mathieu Aubin got Utah on the board 10:09 into the second as he slammed in a puck in front that was fired in by Matt Pelech. Gentry Zollars picked up an assist as well.
Utah tied the game 3:11 later as the Grizzlies worked to keep the puck alive on the power-play and Jacob Johnston scored in the slot from Aubin and Michael Pelech.
Wheeling though scored two in the final two minutes of the second and poured it on late before another Aubin goal with 37 seconds left.
Goaltender Joe Howe faced 31 shots and stopped 24.
Wheeling scored three power-play goals in the game and added one shorthanded.
