Sam Steel leads the Pats with four points (2G, 2A) against the Wheat Kings while Peter Quenneville continues to be a thorn in the side of the Pats with four points (2G, 2A) in three games. Lead Up: Pats Drop Wheat Kings 4-2

Pavel Padakin opened the scoring in the second period with his third straight "˜Teddy Bear Goal' then Sam Steel and Rykr Cole helped keep the Pats paced ahead of the Wheat Kings the rest of the way. Peter Quenneville scored twice for the visitors while Jordan Papirny made 37 saves on 40 shots to keep the Wheat Kings within striking distance. Daniel Wapple won his eighth straight start, turning aside 28 shots.

Monkey off the Back

With their win Wednesday, the Pats snapped a string of eight straight losses to the Wheat Kings (including 2014 Playoffs). After posting a 3-2-1-0 record versus Brandon through the first six games of the 2013-14 season, the Pats couldn't find another victory until their 4-2 win. Now the Blue and White look to turn their fortunes at Westman Place where they haven't had a victory since February 9th, 2013.

Beating the Best

The Pats haven't shown much regard for the standings or BMO CHL Rankings of late. The Queen City Kids have now won three in a row over WHL teams in the Top Ten (MH, KEL, BDN) and in consecutive games beat the Western Conference and Eastern Conference leaders. At 9-1-0-0, the Pats hold the best record in the WHL in their last ten games.

Consistently Impressive

Sam Steel leads all 16-year old skaters into tonight's action with 22 points (7G, 15A). The Sherwood Park, AB product is on a four game point streak with 6 points (3G, 3A) over that stretch. Wednesday marked the Steel's first multi-goal game.
