Sudbury Wolves News Release
The Sudbury Wolves were at home Friday night to host the number one team in the country, the Oshawa Generals.
The first period remained scoreless until less than three minutes remained before Oshawa's AIDAN WALLACE put his first of two on the night behind Wolves' goaltender TROY TIMPANO.
The General's came out flying in the second period and recorded 5 unanswered goals during the frame to take a 6-0 lead.
Sudbury looked to rebound during the 3rd period when Wolves' forwards DANNY DESROCHERS and MATT SCHMALZ each added a goal for the Wolves, however it wasn't enough to overcome the Generals. The Generals added one more powerplay marker in the third to help lead them to a 7-2 victory over the Sudbury Wolves. The newest addition to the Wolves' squad, CHAD HEFFERNAN, had a strong opening game with the wolfpack, which included a fight with Oshawa's JOSH BROWN to start the third period.
The Wolves will look to rebound Sunday, December 7th at 2:00PM when they take on the Mississauga Steelhead. Sunday's game is sponsored by GLENCORE who will be holding a toy drive prior to the game. Fans who donate will have the chance to win 1 of 3 $200 gift cards to the New Sudbury Centre.
Please be advised that due to Hometown Hockey, the Minto Street and Minto Street Parking Lot will be closed. There will be a shuttle service from the York Street Parking Lot (Bell Park) to the Sudbury Arena. Shuttles run 12:00PM to 10:00PM every 20 minutes.
