Brampton Beast News Release

BRAMPTON, ON - The Brampton Beast announced today the signing of 37-year-old veteran player and former Beast Frank LittleJohn.

No stranger to hockey in the area, LittleJohn suited up for 10 games for the Beast last season, scoring three goals and three assists to go along with 18 penalty minutes. He was a fan favourite during his time in Brampton with his big hits, protective attitude, and team-first mentality.

The native of Oshawa, Ontario began his professional career with the Arkansas GlacierCats of the Western Professional Hockey League in 1998, before spending his next season in the ECHL. Throughout his hockey career, LittleJohn has played in the WPHL, ECHL, UHL, AHL, IHL, SPHL, MLH, FHL, ACH, and most recently the CHL, for a total of 10 professional leagues and 17 different franchises.

LittleJohn's best offensive season came in 2006-07, when he scored 42 goals and 17 assists for 59 total points and 199 penalty minutes in 71 games for the Elmira Jackals of the United Hockey League (now an ECHL franchise). From 2001-2004, the dual-eligible forward/defenseman posted three consecutive 270+ PIM seasons, with a career-high 306 penalty minutes in 75 games played for the Adirondack IceHawks of the UHL in 2002-03.

LittleJohn will be in action this weekend as the Beast welcome the Wichita Thunder to the Powerade Centre tonight for Free Pizza Day courtesy of Pizza Pizza. Game two of the back-to-back doubleheader is slated for Saturday at 2:00 PM and will be Free Hot Dog day sponsored by Maple Lodge Farms. Finally, the Beast will wrap up their three-game homsetand when they take on the Wheeling Nailers for the first time ever on Sunday at 2:00 PM, which will also be Canadian Tire's second annual Teddy Bear Toss at the Powerade Centre. Tickets are still available at www.bramptonbeast.com or by calling 905-564-1684.
