The Islanders travel to Halifax to take on the Mooseheads in a matchup for 3rd place in the Maritime Division. The Mooseheads are one of the hottest teams in the league with a 8-3-0-1 record over their last 12 games. Nikolaj Elhers was recently named the 1st star of the month in the QMJHL with 12 goals, 22 assists, and 34 points in 12 games during November. Halifax goaltender Zachery Fucale was named to the 2015 Canadian World Junior Team this week. The Mooseheads come in carrying the league's 13th ranked power play (18.1%) and the worst penalty kill in the league (73.4%) while the Islanders come into the weekend with the 11th ranked power play (19.9%) and the 13th ranked penalty kill (77.6%).

The Wildcats make the trip to the Eastlink Centre on Saturday night for the annual Teddy Bear Toss. All fans are encouraged to bring along their teddy bears. Once the Islanders score their first goal of the game, all fans will then throw their bears onto the ice. The teddy bears will be collected and given to families in need at Christmas. The Wildcats have come on strong since the return on Ivan Barbashev from NHL camp (20 goals, 23 assists, for 43 points in 24 games), and the emergence of running mate Conor Garland (15 goals, 36 assists, for 51 points in 28 games). Solid defence and goaltending have kept the Wildats near the top of the division all season, and they have been deadly on the powerplay. Their power play is rated 1st in the league (28.4%), while their penalty kill comes in rated 8th (78.9%).

Filip has recently been selected to tryout for the U-20 World Junior Czech National Team starting on December 12th in the Czech Republic.
