Olivier Archambault Named CCM ECHL Rookie of the Month

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces, the 2014 Kelly Cup champions, announced in conjunction with the ECHL today that left winger Olivier Archambault has been named CCM ECHL Rookie of the Month for November.

Archambault, 21, finished tied for the lead among all ECHL rookies during the month with eight goals and also earned 14 points (8g-6a), adding a +9 rating during November to help guide the Aces to a 7-4-0 record and current five-game winning streak.

The Aces also have won six of the last seven games (6-1-0), with Archambault collecting seven points (4g-3a) in that span. He went into a 12-day layoff with the Aces tied for the league lead in scoring after Nov. 16 and earned at least a point in nine of his 11 games during the month.

The native of Le Gardeur, Quebec had three points (2g-1a) in a 4-1 victory over Bakersfield on Nov. 8 at Sullivan Arena and also earned four multi point games during the month.

Archambault, currently skating under contract with the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League, leads the Aces with 10 goals and 18 points and is second among all rookies and tied for fourth overall in the ECHL in goals. He is tied for third among league rookies in scoring. He previously skated with Val d'Or, Drummondville and Quebec for four seasons with 231 points in 270 games.

Archambault made his pro debut with Hamilton of the AHL in 2012-14 with two points in 10 games and was originally selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the fourth round (108th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

He is the sixth all-time member of the Aces to secure ECHL Rookie of the Month honors.

The Aces return to play tomorrow, starting a six game road trip against the host Stockton Thunder at 6:30 p.m. (KFQD/ECHL.TV). Broadcast coverage, beginning with the Peanut Farm Pregame Show, begins at 6:15 p.m. and Hard Rock Cafe' Anchorage, the Aces Watch Party flagship location, will host festivities for each road trip game.
