Kansas City Mavericks News Release
Independence, MO (December 3, 2014) - The Missouri Mavericks will host their sixth annual "Teddy Bear Toss" night at Independence Events Center on Saturday, December 6th during their home matchup against the Tulsa Oilers.
For the past five seasons the Mavericks have invited fans to bring new or gently used teddy bears and stuffed animals to the designated "Teddy Bear Toss" game to be thrown on the ice when the Mavs score their first goal of the contest! The bears are collected from the ice and donated to local organizations that provide holiday presents to children in need throughout the Kansas City area.
The Mavericks are proud to have helped collect over 10,000 teddy bears and stuffed animals to community partners and children's charities over the last five years. This year's the beneficiary is " Friends of Special People ."
Fans who wish to participate in the "Teddy Bear Toss" are asked to bring the new or gently used teddy bears and stuffed animals to the game on December 6th at Independence Events Center-- individually wrapped in plastic bags if possible.
The Missouri Mavericks Top Shelf Team Store has special Mavs teddy bears in stock and available for purchase prior to the event and at the game!
Tickets to the December 6th "Teddy Bear Toss" game are available for purchase online at TicketMaster.com or in-person at the Silverstein Eye Centers Box Office, located on the East side of Independence Events Center.
