Vancouver Giants News Release

Vancouver, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants are getting ready to celebrate the Christmas season with some exciting holiday plans in the works for the next couple of weeks at the Pacific Coliseum!

This Saturday, December 6th, is the annual Teddy Bear Toss game as the Giants face the Saskatoon Blades! Now a Vancouver tradition, the Teddy Bear Toss collects toys to be donated to the Vancouver Christmas Bureau. Stuffed bears will also be available to purchase at the game with proceeds going to the CKNW Orphans Fund and The Province Empty Stocking Fund.

On Saturday, December 13th, the Giants will host the Victoria Royals on Ugly Christmas Sweater Night! The G-Men will wear special Ugly Christmas Sweater jerseys while Santa Claus himself will be in attendance at the game, and there will be special giveaways and holiday celebrations throughout the evening.

"The holiday season is the greatest time of the year," said Giants Vice President of Business Development Dale Saip. "We're happy that our Teddy Bear Toss has become a tradition in Vancouver, and we're excited to see all of our fans out at the game on Saturday, and they'll have another chance to celebrate more of the Christmas season for Ugly Christmas Sweater night. We're encouraging all of our fans to wear their best, worst Christmas sweater to that game because ugly is "˜in' on December 13th!"

Tickets for both games are available by visiting VancouverGiants.com or calling 604-4-GIANTS (604-444-2687).
