IceDogs Fall to the Battalion 4-2

November 30, 2014 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Niagara IceDogs News Release

Despite outshooting the North Bay Battalion 35-24, the Niagara IceDogs lost 4-2 in North Bay Sunday afternoon.

The Battalion struck first thanks to a power play tally by Mike Amadio at 6:40 of the first period. Johnny Corneil converted a nice pass from Carter Verhaeghe less than 10 minutes later to tie the game. Right before the first intermission, Christopher Paquette broke in on a partial breakaway and wired a shot over Jake Smith's shoulder for his first OHL goal.

Nick Paul tied it up just 59 seconds into the second when he was able to tuck the puck behind IceDogs goaltender Brent Moran.

Paul's second of the game at 14:50 gave the Battalion a 3-2 lead. Despite having 10 shots on Smith in the third period, many of which were high-quality chances, the IceDogs couldn't tie it up. Brenden Miller added an empty netter for good measure.

The IceDogs are back in action Thursday night when they host the Guelph Storm.
