Soo Greyhounds News Release

The Soo Greyhounds Hockey Program is extremely pleased to announce that winger JEAN DUPUY has signed a 3-year entry-level contract with the NHL's Buffalo Sabres earlier today.

The announcement came just prior to the Hounds game tonight versus the Saginaw Spirit.

"Over the last year Jean has brought a positive attitude and relentless work ethic to our Program that has helped take both his game and our team to a higher level and it's great to see him get rewarded for his efforts" stated Hounds Head Coach Sheldon Keefe.

The 20-year old Orleans, ON product is in his second season, first full-season, with the Hounds. He was acquired by the Program on October 8, 2013.

Since joining the Hounds Dupuy has 14 goals and 22 assists in 64 regular season games to go along with a +17 rating.

His 19 points in 19 games this season (2014-15) is already a career-high for the 6.03, 201 lb forward.

Dupuy is one of two Alternate Captains with the Hounds.

"I'm very happy to sign my first NHL contract with the Sabres, it's a very exciting day for me and my family. It's really a dream come true!" began Dupuy.

"I can't thank the Greyhounds Organization enough for everything they've done for me, as well as my billets and I want to thank my teammates. I wouldn't be fortunate enough to sign this contract without them" stated the Hounds latest NHL signee.

Dupuy becomes the 4th undrafted free agent from the Hounds to sign an NHL contract in the last fifteen months joining Sergey Tolchinsky (Carolina), Tyler Gaudet (Phoenix) and Alex Gudbranson (Minnesota).

He also becomes seventh contract overall signed by a member of the Program in the same time period (Darnell Nurse -EDM, Matt Murray - PIT, and Jared McCann - VAN).
